Color Coach—the key to great color combos

complementary

I just found this info that Stampin’ Up! had on the website about color and I thought that some of you, like me, might need a little help.

They are offering this as a way to understanding and using the color coach to your best capacity.

Click here or on the picture and it will take you to the pdf about color.

If you need more help with color, we have the color coach available.

Color Coach

#121620  $14.95

It’s great to be back home.  Our friends, Abbi and Andy’s wedding was today and it was just beautiful.

Now, I must get studying my Sunday School lesson or the teen girls are going to be giggling and looking at each other wondering if I just fell off the icebergs!

Scrappin’ Fun

IMG_4904

Here’s the page Tash and I worked on for class  this month.  We used the triple punch and punched out all those blue flowers along the edge.  This is one of my favorite color combos—Wild Wasabi and Pacific Point!  We did scrunched flowers on the edge—with the jumbo flower punch, spritzed the paper with water, balled up then opened and shaped before allowing to dry.

Technique Tuesday

IMG_4809

This card was done by Edith or Esther Graybill at our last Proverbial Stampers Meeting.

Check out the Pink part of the flower—that is from the new blossom bouquet triple flower punch #122464  $23.95

They used the easel card technique.  I’ve had alot of questions about that so I’ll post that tutorial for you as soon as I get back from Alaska.

The Designer paper with the palm trees is from the nautical DSP  #122343

IMG_4800

I’ve been wanting to show you some of these cards forever—just not enough time in a day.  This card, we did at Connie’s quarterly meeting for a make and take.  As you can see, it’s glossy cardstock.

1. Rub embossing buddy on CS

2. Stamp one colored images at a time—all the ones you want orange, pour tangerine tango powder on those 2 images, then stamp the ones you want pink, pour the melon mambo powder, then stamp the leaves, pour on the wild wasabi powder.

3. Be careful to tap off after each color application and also, as you’re dumping off, you must keep each color separate or your ruin your powder—or create a whole new look!

4. Then heat the whole piece, embossing it

5. Use a crayon and apply only where you want the card to stay white (inside the flower petals)

6. Sponge color over these using sponge daubers and your ink—the crayon will resist this ink.  White off with tissue after sponging.

Hope you enjoy this technique

Good News worth Sharin’

IMG_4793

Yes, we do have some great new colored embossing powders—they are very shimmery!

But the real good news for those of you who follow the Tyler Saga.  He had his follow-up MRI done over 2 weeks ago and after about 16 days of hounding the doctors, I finally got a call yesterday with the report!

IMG_4794

So, he thinks it’s good—the old lesions were smaller and not ‘active’.  There was one new spot but they didn’t seem concerned about it.  He was very happy to not see Tyler til his scheduled visit which isn’t til like August or September.  We are praising the Lord for his healing power!  We are also, so thankful to our church friends, Dee and Jim, who have bought a dietary supplement (costly) for Tyler for 6 months and I think it’s really working!  It’s called Ambrotose by the company Mannatech.  I was excited about the stuff before, but now that we’ve seen results, I’m even more excited about what it does for Autoimmune diseases!

Thank you for caring and praying for this little issue in our lives.  Now, we can thank the Lord together!

I hope you enjoyed this card!  Here’s how I did it:

1. I used my embossing buddy over the card

2. stamped surfboards with Versamark

3. Poured the melon mambo powder over the bottom of the design, dump and tap,

4. Poured the tang. tango powder over the middle 1/3, dumped, tapped

5. Pour the Wild Wasabi powder over the top (doesn’t matter if you get it on the pink or orange cause it won’t stick cause those areas are already covered).  Then just heat and enjoy the shine!

If you love this as much as I do, you might want to get some of your own.  Click here to place order 24/7

I apologize that I have not gotten anything posted in awhile and it was stressing me out because I have so many great things to share with you.   I hope you had a great Mother’s Day!   If you’re a Facebook friend, you know that I did.  My youngest son accepted Christ and was baptized on Mother’s Day!  I posted some pics there.  If you’re not a friend, please friend me!
