Snow Day

Malachi finally gets to finish his snowman…on the second snowday.

Tash and I played with our stamps…I designed this page for my class this month.  IMG_0956  Oh, check out the little cross stitches on the tiny blue piece…that’s a new embossing folder!

Here’s the buIMG_0961tterfly that Tash is working on….The butterfly is embossed and then she sponged (and q-tipped) champagne shimmer paint on it.

IMG_0963Oh, and this is the card that I made over 325 of this year.  I am still needing to finish a few for some friends….

Merry Christmas

The kids on Christmas morning!  Wow, suddenly our tree looks really small.

Then off to Grandma’s house for a day or stuffing ourselves, games, music and reminiscing.

We celebrated with the ‘little guy’ on Sunday morning when Tyler had him.  He loved the wrapping paper more than his gifts---went right to his mouth!  Then we visited with Great-grandma and grandpa Clapper and family.

Holiday Inspiration

Here are a few tags that we are doing this month at StamptheloveShoppe…the tree one is just for this Saturday at our Stamping Day!

Here’s another one we are doing on Saturday:

Love this little canning jar.  Saw a Christmas card using the idea of the jar with ornaments so I decided to try it in a tag.  The ornaments are punched with the Merry minis punch pack #126882

I used the silver glimmer paper (which we sponged Soft Suede with a sponge dauber to antique a bit) and the Candlelight Christmas Designer Paper #126901

The Scallop Circle is a die…which I just realized we don’t carry anymore…oops, sorry!  I’ll be changing it to the Delicate Doily Sizzlits L.

Unfortunately, this isn’t a good angle, but Tash colored Champagne Shimmer Paint #116806 onto the skates with a blender pen #102845

Gives it a gorgeous shimmery but antique look.

I think this is my favorite…Tash made it.

The tree from Christmas Lodge #123769 was stamped with our new Always Artichoke Pad…I’ve never seen such a real-looking tree stamped.  Then she spritzed it with our new spritzers #126185. She added alcohol then a few drops Crumb Cake and some Soft Suede ink refills.  To get the large dot effect (I had to ask her how she did this cause I kept getting real fine spritz).  So, you depress the top about half, then you do your spritzing action from 1/2 way, this gives you large splatters.  Try it….oh, she also spritzed it with a separate mixture of alcohol and Shimmer Paint.

Oh, the little dabs of Cherry cobbler Dazzling Details #125585 really makes this tag pop!

I learned this cool fold from my friend Sena.  It’s just a half circle.  I’ll try to get a video on here for you!

This tag looks great with our sweater trim ribbon…127838

    Tic Tac Holders

Demo’d these cuties for my uplines meetings.  I’ll put the details on here later.

    New Fold—twisted card

Needed a new idea for a workshop card so I started searching.

I found this great new fold and had to try it!  What do you think?

So the idea is from Kelly Gettelfinger and she posted a video here.  Check it out.

So, the inside holds a gift card:IMG_0607

And the great news is…it’s so simple.

    Directions: 1. Start with a 4 1/4” X 11” piece of Vanilla Cardstock.

    2. Score on the diagonal down the length.  3. Fold, then score from fold line, down the center to create the front and inside of the card. 4. Cut designer paper 4’ X 4 1/2” and cut on diagonal for the front and inside.  Then just decorate as you like.  I used Wonderful and the fantastic Autumn Accents Die…also the Crumb tulle and the Regals Buttons.

Oh, the best thing is that it fits in our regular envelopes!  Go try it and let me know how you did.

    October Inspiration

I apologize for not posting anything in awhile…doesn’t mean I haven’t been creating…have lots of things to share.  If you’ve never blogged you might not understand but just to be transparent, it’s hard to know what to say when you’re emotionally taxed.  The Lord has been revealing some things to me through some friends from church and they are hard things, things that cause you to have to dig deeper and allow the Holy Spirit to help, things you have to be humbled to accept (if you are me, that is)!  God is still working on me, guess that’s all I can say for now.

On to the fun stuff…here’s the page we did this month in Scrap Class!  I think it turned out very cute—used the layout on the left page that my SIL, Shendelle did in class..looked so much better than my original.  I got the little scare crow idea from Rae Harper, here.  Love it!

Here’s a close-up of the little guy!  His face and his hat are done with the top note die.

The designer paper is from the Orchard Harvest DSP #126895

    Love it!

I did add the leaf arrangement under the scare crow after the class….just thought he’d look cute with that as his bowtie.

Lots of Big Shot Products here:

The Tasteful Trim Die that I use all the time for scrapbooking,

The new Alphabet Die, that I got for 1/2 price by hosting a party,

The Autumn Accents (leaf) die from the Holiday Catalog  #127812

I also used the Bird Builder Punch, the Small oval punch and the 1/2” circle punch

Sponge, sponge daubers, Scalloped Tulle Ribbon-Crumb Cake and a one leaf cut out of the Champagne Glimmer Paper #127885, from the Holiday catalog.

My basic colors are: Cajun Craze and Island Indigo

I will definitely have some ‘grandson in the leaves’ pictures for this layout.

If you’d like to recreate this page, you can order your supplies here 24/7:

    Founder's Circle--Day 3

We took an hour bus trip to Kanab to tour the manufacturing facility. The employees greeted us with signs and made us feel like royalty...guess they really think that we are. We got to see the whole process and how 60 employees make 15,000 stamp sets per day, plus they make the ink pads, fill reinkers, cut cardstock and much, much, more!
Got to tour the apartment at Kanab that Shelli and her family and other employees use when they are in town for business.  Her touch is every where....just beautiful
then we got back on the bus for an hour trip to????
Okay, they did finally tell us that we were going to float down the Colorado River!  We took a bus down in this tunnel, I'm thinking under the Glen Falls Dam...creepy.  As soon as we got off the bus, we had to wear these helmets just in case a car on the road up on top of that rock wall would throw a rock over the side.
After about an hour of floating down the River, we grounded it on an island and took a hike to see several of these petraglyphs:

We ended on a beach right above the start of the Grand Canyon.
These cute bags held our dinner to eat on the way back to the hotel...a 3+ hour bus ride.
