Under The Stars Retires soon

IMG_9099

This is a card I did for my demo of the Simply Scored tool, on Saturday.

I love this stamp set: Under the Stars and it is going out very soon so I wanted to play with it.  This card went with my daughter to a friend’s 16th BDay party.  She needed a guy card and I told her I had just the card for her.  She slipped a gift card into the front pocket and off she went.

Here’s the pattern:

Triple Pocket Card  Follow these steps exactly as shown:

1. Cut DSP to 8 ½ X 11

2. Put on Simply Scored and score on short side at 4 ¼”

3. Turn and score at 5 ½” on long side

4. Turn again with short side to the top...Place on Diagonal plate

and Score 5 ¼”

5. Rotate CS 180 degrees and score at 4 ¼”

6. Flip (right to left) and score at 4 ¾”

7. Rotate paper right 180 degrees….

8. Cut on left center score line at 5 ½” just to center then lay down with the cut on the left.

9. Fold up bottom right corner diagonal line.

10. Fold under bottom left, then fold left side over to right side

11. Fold up top left corner diagonal line, then fold across to right

12. Now fold up the bottom to finish your 3 pockets—embellish

I used staples to quickly hold together but in the one below, I used a brad…..

then embellished with some punched borders, 2 tags die-tags with matching ribbon.

Fun Cards from Meeting

IMG_9085

this is the card that won the contest at Connie’s Meeting on Saturday.

It was done by Pesci.

Great job!

IMG_9088

This card was done with one of the techniques that we did on Saturday.  Isn’t the embellishment cute?  And if you thought you didn’t need that doily stamp, think again!

More Flowers

I just had to show you the flower decorations that Tash did for our Scrapbook Weekend.  We got the directions in our Stampin’ Success Magazine the day we were packing for the weekend.  She also did this awesome window treatment:

IMG_9058

For the blue flowers:

First layer: 1 3/4” circle punch—1

Second layer: long leaf from Blossom Builder punch—8

Third layer: same

4th layer: small leaf from same punch—8

The orange flowers were done with the short, chubby petal from the punch.

Center is 8”X 1” strip of cardstock, snip in about 1/2” at very close increments. Then you just roll the piece and fluff out the little snips.

Each petal is curled with a bone folder, Glued with a hot glue gun is best.  IMG_9059

Window Treatment: Fishing line!

Orange ones are just 2 circles 1 3/4” Glued together over the fishing line

The pool party ones are circles that I spritzed with water and scrunched, then left to dry.  (took these along to work on while my tax lady put my tax totals into her computer—it always takes a long time).

They are also glued back to back on the fish line.  Then we just laid them out on the floor and attached at the top with masking tape which we applied to the top of the window!

The list that you’ve all been dreading is finally here.  I think it’s good news cause it means we are getting another catalog—wooohoo!   Click on pic or here to print a pdf with the lists (2 pages).

These items will still be available for purchase til May 31st.

There are going to be quite of few of the stamps you’ve been hoping they would clear mount and I’ve been planning this great offer---to help you overcome this great catastrophe:

When you spend $50, in either April or May, I will give you a 10% discount when your purchase includes a discontinuing stamp set!  If your purchase includes a wood mount set that is being discontinued,  I will clear mount them for you—just ask.    If you need me to mail these sets to you, I will ask you to pay the shipping costs (if you are placing an online order for multiple items, you may choose to just email me and let me order just the ones that need clear mounted to save you on extra postage—your 10% discount will have to be sent to you for online orders)

Happy Easter

IMG_4861

Had to show you this adorable card by France Martin!

I’d call it Bunny Butts!

on the inside, you can make the bunny face all with punches!

And on the more serious note, I love this cross by Betty Traciak:

DSCF75630000

click on the picture to go to her website for the info on how to do it!  I just made one but don’t have my camera here to take a pic and send so I’m sending her’s.  It’s really very easy---I did the flower in vanilla instead of white and I didn’t have the sticky sheet so I just used sticky strip.

I’m planning to use mine as a decoration on our Easter/Birthday cake for tomorrow.

Spring is in the Air—April Classes

IMG_8143

Malachi has the Spring itch….planting a little greenhouse—which did wonderful then died cause he left it outside….and watching the buds open on our Crab Apple Tree…it’s fun to see him so excited about the beauty around him.  He also took pics of one of the tulips….IMG_8133

That makes me excited to share with you what our projects are for April’s Stamp the Love Classes!  I hope that you’ll be able to join us for one.

IMG_8162

This bright card (cased from Debra Currier)

uses our new Summer Smooches Paper and Stamp set-from our upcoming catalog-available for early purchase this month.

And don’t miss this delicious Daffodil Seam Binding!

 IMG_8163

I seem to be into circles—well I think that the stamp set lends me to that.  I copied this idea from Erika Clark.  It uses our new Summer Smooches DSP and this new stencil of a flower!  Isn’t it fun?  Notice the little scoring lines at the bottom done with our fabulous scoring tool!  Oh, and don’t miss the great fabric brad in the center of the flower.   I want to tell you how simple this little flower adornment is:

I punched 3 1 inch circles of DSP, put them on top of each other and just made lots of snips toward the center, poked hole in center for brad then fluffed the layers up around the brad!

Last, but not least:

IMG_8164

I saw this idea several months ago and was so intriqued by the interlocking hearts.  It’s been on my list to do so this month, we are doin’ it!  Pretty simple—just one little slit in the turquoise heart and the other hearts slide onto it!  I love the color combo and don’t remember who to give credit to: Tempting Turquoise, Pear Pizazz, Cherry Cobbler.

So, click here to see what class you could come to this month and enjoy making these 3 cards or the scrapbook pages below:

IMG_8122

This page again, uses our Summer Smooches product line.  Color combo that I came up with (imagine that) is Rich Razzleberry and Pool Party----love it!

IMG_8125

the stamping is simple…one color then I punched out some little circles of pool party with our owl punch!
