Grab Your Mini Catalog!

Have I got a sweet deal for you!  If you took a look at the Mini catalog when you got it in the mail, you saw a ton of great new items.  I know that can be a little overwhelming and the cost of everything together can be prohibitive so my friend Sondra suggested this great idea and I thought I’d share it with you as well.  We all split up the products and thus split the cost!

What do you think, are you in?  Here’s a pic of some of the items and I’ll list them all below:

Mini Purse/Bug Bag

I wanted to show this fun project that I found and got to try!

We stamped these adorable treat toppers at my upline’s meeting back in December and then this week I found this great pocket book that I thought would be a great holder for these treats that I finally finished with Skittles.  I wanted to share this info with you and then I thought maybe this would make a great Mother and child class if you are interested.

This purse was shown at a Stampin’ Up! regional event last year and Toni printed up the directions—great—simple project.  I’ve also taken a little video as I made  mine so if I can get that together, I’ll share that later.

Fun Class!

IMG_4350

I just had to share some pictures from our Nature stamping class today.  Linda and Marilyn and I had so much fun—they even left me take their picture with one of the projects they finished. Sorry to you 2 gals who missed out because of illness.  See you at the next one!

“This class was so much fun—all the projects were great.”

Marilyn S.

“Count me in for the next one!”

Linda H.

Here’s a pic of all the cards they got to make for just the cost of the stamp set, Nature Walk, that they got to keep, plus $3—great value.

Mini Milk Carton and tote

IMG_1832

Yesterday as I browsed for some ideas for my workshop last night, I found this adorable milk carton box by Becky Roberts.

So Tasha and I made one for my hostess, Jean!

Thanks Jean for a great party.

Click on Becky’s name above for the link to her post and the pattern.  It uses the stamp set Friends 24-7 and the milk carton die for the big shot.  Other things we used: Baja Breeze CS, Crumb Cake CS, Mini vintage tags, 2 way glue pen and glitter, sticky strip (for putting ribbon around the edge), and I stapled my top together.

Also, here’s the card I came up with for the make and take:

IMG_4292

I am just loving this stamp set, in fact, next month, it will be the subject of a special class on March 19th.  Everything is stamped in Basic black—I finally broke down and bought a new Black pad after all these years—I’m in love, it stamps so nice.

Then we put pastels on using  a q-tip and sprayed with a light spray of aerosol hairspray to set the chalk.  Check out the bling on the little girls pony tail:  I learned from one of my fellow-demonstrators,  how to color our rhinestones with a sharpie pen—I used black but you can use any color to make the color rhinestone that you want!  Isn’t that the coolest.

I hope that you have fun stamping today.

If you need any supplies, don’t forget, now is a great time to purchase because with every $50 purchase, you get a FREE Sale-A-Bration item.

Sale a Bration

scan0001

I stamped this card using things I had laying around from a Christmas card class (changed the red to this baja breeze).  I must have sent this card to someone, so glad that I took a pic first.  now I need to re-make it but I thought I’d share it with you because I really like how the colors looked together.  It’s Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Baja Breeze.

The SAB stamp set that I used is Sweet Summer

We had our Joyful Heart Stampers Breakfast on Saturday.  It was a bit icy and a few people missed out unfortunately but there were 25 of us there.  Great fun!  Great swaps!  here are a few:

IMG_4269

Designed by Heather Forberger.  Do you see what punches she used for the purse: Cupcake (upside down), 3/4 and 1/2 inch circle punches.

IMG_4270

Crayon Resist on Glossy CS by Kathy Bouw.  Makes me ache for Spring even more.

Tips: Stamp outline design in StazOn Black ink.  Use any color crayon and color just the areas that you want to stay white.  Sponge blue and green ink over complete design, burnishing (rubbing the sponge in a circular motion).  After you have on all the color you want, take a tissue and wipe off the crayon.

IMG_4272

This card is a form of the original done by Diana Marshall.  I loved her color combination: Old Olive and Melon Mambo.  You can’t see it well but the dsp is embossed  with vintage wallpaper EF.

The stamp set used here is Blessed Mother and Punch Potpourri (hostess set) for the flower.  Old Olive glimmer brad for accent.

IMG_4273

This card was done by Lynne Peters.  She has glitter on all the green berries as well as the center of the flowers in the DSP!

Table favors—Linda, Tasha, and I made 30 of these lovelies.  Check out the flowers—made with the Build a Flower set.  Our Sweet Stitches Designer Buttons for the centers.  The cones were done with the Petal Cone die (pg.15 of the Occasions Mini).  Normally you would do 2 pieces and glue together but I cut one side off to make just a 3-sided petal cone.

IMG_4267

It was sort of an on-going joke that I should give my girls more milk at home.  They ate (drank) their allotted breakfast amount in chocolate milk!  Okay, I did gather up 2 or 3 that were not their milk boxes but I promise most of them belong to 2 girls!  Calcium overload here we come!

This swap was done by Amanda Karst—the left side folds in and tucks behind the little butterfly circle—great card!

Another great swap but it doesn’t have a name so I can’t give credit.  This scan also doesn’t do it credit. It has several pearls on it—don’t know why they aren’t showing up.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this tour of the set Bliss!

And most of our classes this month will be before Valentine’s Day but not all.  This card can be used for a sweetheart or just a friend.

I had to show you my version of this card!  I like it even better if I must say so myself.  Hope you do too!

Notice the ric rac done with the bigshot and Tasteful Trims BigsXL die, the buttons done with Sweet Buttons embosslit from the mini catalog, and the tag itself done with 2-tags die!  Wheeled background done with Friendly Words jumbo wheel.  IMG_4285

In this close-up shot you can see the accents a little better—oh, I used the air art gun with Early Espresso marker to create the speckles on the blue heart.

Colors: Soft Suede, Early Espresso, River Rock, Bashful blue (stamped with Marina Mist), and Vanilla.

To create the ruffled accent, I wheeled a piece of vanilla with the wheel, then punched the edge with the scallop edge punch, then I ran it through the corrugator numerous times, scrunched it—beat it…well maybe not that!

Then I put a piece of sticky strip across the tag and began sticking the ruffle down, srunching it as I went—it was so fun and easy.

Hope you enjoyed!
