Thumping Fun

I was using this technique to make little thank-yous for my Stamps in the Mail club.  As I stamped I thought that I should remind you about this fun and easy technique.

IMG_0834

Start with an image with more solid lines as well as a light ink pad and several darker markers.  I used Certainly Celery Pad, and Gumball Green, Soft Suede and Midnight Muse Markers.

IMG_0835

Ink the full stamp with the pad then starting with the lightest marker (brush tip), hold the barrel between thumb and forefinger and let the marker thump up and down as if it’s rubber, all over the stamp.

Repeat with the other 2 markers.

Then huff on the stamp and place it down on the smooth surface of our Whisper White or Vanilla and hold a few seconds.

IMG_0839 Now, go try it!  It’s really effective.

Help for Sticking Sizzlits

Okay, I found out the greatest tip at convention…it was actually just a bunch of us sitting around and stamping and I overheard a conversation.  So, I came home and tried it with my new Delicate Doilies Sizzlet.

IMG_0829

So, here’s what you do…just cover the grey foam base with clear packing tape before you use the die.  this helps keep the paper from sticking in the grooves. I’m amazed at how well it works.  Now, I did it with my large doily as well but it was already well used and the foam was already well pressed down so it doesn’t work as well.

Hope this is helpful for you.  Don’t forget to post any tips you have as well.

We got together for my Mom’s 70th birthday and Kale got to meet many more in his ‘large’ family.  He has 51 Aunts and Uncles on Tyler’s side of the family and has a few yet to meet.  Look at that beautiful face…I can’t stand saying goodbye!

Like me on Facebook to see the whole album from this fun day—lots of baby pics.

My Father’s Day Gifts

IMG_0251I’ve been wanting to send these pics out.  We did this little picture card/book at our last Stamp Fest Open House.  It was a hit.  It’s a bound little book that you can have the kids draw pictures in, put sayings, write notes…..the list is endless.  Wild Wasabi Cardstock was 4 1/4 X 11, scored at 1, 5 1/2 and 10.  Then  Vanilla Cardstock was cut at 4 X 8 (2 pieces or more).  Scored at 4”.  We used the crop-a-dile to punch holes in the spine through all 3 layers.   We cut the edge of the green piece with the Finishing Touches Edgelits #127010 and also made a little slit in the 1” Fold to slip the ribbon through. IMG_0253 You can’t see it, but the ribbon in slid under the bottom vanilla piece then comes out the edge of the green piece, which is then glued down to the vanilla creating a nice finished edge.

The front is decorated with our new Designer Paper, Natural Composition Specialty  #126917 along with the stamp set, A Fitting Occasion, pg. 101.

Try it, a fun project for Summer for the kiddos…let them scrapbook their summer adventures.

Supplies available on my website if you need…just click here.

Back with some stamping inspiration….

IMG_0330
I’m sorry it’s been so long.  I’ve been very busy,  making some great projects but just too busy to post, or too exhausted.  So, I’ll try to make up for it!
….but first, a picture or 2.
I found Uncle Devin holding Kale….he'd been refusing, afraid he would ‘break’.   I had to get a picture.

Tyler had Kale last weekend so we got lots of hug time.  Briana even took some photos…she’s very good at that.  Here’s her pic of him 2 weeks ago
IMG_9294
Now to stamping:  I just designed this card last week for a workshop I was doing for one of my new recruits.  A lot of friends/customers from church were coming so I wanted to do something they hadn’t seen.
IMG_0335
This is an easel card and I’ve used the Hostess only set: Four Seasons, along with the new Designer Paper, Floral District.
Here are some tips: Pool Party Cardstock cut 4 1/4 X 11, then scored at 5 1/2.  The fold was then put up to the corner of Simply scored, on the diagonal plate, I started scoring at the corner.  IMG_0336If you were to stand this card up as a tent, the score goes from the top left corner of the card down to the right side.
Then I cut the bottom of the front flap off where the score ended.  I think it was about 1 1/8 inch. Here’s the card from another angle:
The other colors I used (from the designer paper) are: Rich Razzleberry and Primrose Petals.  For the ribbon, I applied a piece of Sticky Strip, then used the tip of my scissors to ‘hold up the ribbon, as I pressed it down on the sticky strip…I did that the whole way across.  The pretty scalloped edging is done with the Large Scallop Edgelit 127019 and The Delicate Designs Folder #127023.
Hope you enjoy.   If you need any of these products, please contact me or Click Here to order 24/7
