Shutter Card Tutorial with Step-By-Step Video

I have always resisted making this fold because, from the look of it, it is too hard to do or too time consuming.  When one of my team members demonstrated this fold for our virtual team meeting, I realized just how easy it was! And I just had to make my own. I hope you enjoy it too.

I apologize, that this stamp set is retired...I guess and happens to be the second stamp set that I've used in the last 2 weeks that was retired.  I actually employed helpers to change out stuff after the new catalog and I guess that's not something I can afford to delegate from now on!

So, here's the front of the card:

And here is the open version with the belly band off

Here's how to cut your cardstock:

Base: 8 1/2 X 5 1/2 inches  Score at 2 1/8 and 6 3/8
Front: Designer Series Paper: 5 3/8 X 2 1/8
Inside Sheeth: Cardstock 3 1/4 X 5 1/2
Designer Paper 3 X 5 1/4
Shutter: 3 X 3 3/4 (2 pieces)
Score on long side at 3/8" and apply tear and tape
To make the tail: Mark center of 3" side and move up 1 3/4" from the bottom
Then cut from the point to the mark on each side
Sentiment: 2 1/4 X 2 1/4
Belly Band: 1 1/2 X 9  Score at 2 1/2 and 6 3/4 plus a hair

And finally, Here's the video I did to show you step by step
