Winner of the Mystery Hostess Award

Congratulations to Laura Pfannschmidt, the winner of the hostess awards from last week's SAB party!

I thought I'd show you some of the projects that we made.  My friend, and team mate, Phyllis Krietz came over and helped me to design them.

This card is done in Daffodil Delight and Island Indigo with a touch of crumb cake.

We used the lace tape as a stencil...on the lower right hand side you can see it.  Then we also added some of the lace tape as an accent.

The stamps sets used are Creative Elements  #122647  and Papillion Potpourri  #123759
The daffodil seam binding, along with the rhinestones is just the accent this card needed to make it pop!

Get your Daffodil Delight seam binding here

Here's the second card that we made, actually changed up a bit from a beautiful swap from Sondra Jumper (shown below).  It was mostly re-designed in my first class when Sheryl Meyers decided to omit the background layer of white cardstock...we all fell in love with her design and I thus re-designed my card to show more of the Elegant Egglant as well as the embossed design.  Don't you just love when that happens?  Someone changes it up and it keeps getting better.  The green is Gumball Green...really makes this card pop...once again, we used butterflies from Papillion in Daffodil Delight.  The flowers were stamped in Perfect Plum.
The stamp set is the Secret Garden Bundle #131099 and we used the new mini butterfly punch #129406
I made mine a sympathy card because I've had so many friends lose loved ones this past week.

If you didn't get this Secret Garden Bundle...hurry and get yours because it's been so great to have dies to cut out the flowers so quickly and easily.  Yes, I know, we already have too many flower sets!  This one is different because it will save you so much time as well as it's cute and versatile: has solid flowers as well as outline flowers to create so many different looks.  Here's a card I copied from the talented Mary Fish....uses the outline flowers stamped on designer paper.  These colors are Lucky Limeade, Pool Party, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.  Check out the embossed cross stitch down the left--done with our Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder  #129383

Joyful Heart Stampers Gathering

So, about 20 of us met up on Saturday for our quarterly meeting!  I feel so bad for those that couldn't make it cause it was jam packed with great stamping, ideas and information and we had so much fun, we ran over about 2 hours....gotta work on that next time.  Here are the napkin holders that Tash made for me using our Blossom Builder Punch.  She did 25 and it took her about 6 hours (ouch on my pocket book!).

Below:
So this is what our table looked like.   We had pint jars with lemonade and fruit with fun striped paper straws!  Tash also made the paper lei (from our Fun Flowers Bigz die) that lined the drink table.   Everyone brought a dish to share and we had a wonderful assortment of casseroles, fruits, desserts and did I mention the chocolate peanut butter balls!

Next post, I'll show you the fun projects that we made.  It was a mini (not so mini) technique class to take to their own classes.

By the Tide Stamps...the rest of the story

Quick and easy…
  • First Edition and Parker’s Patterns DSP
  • Natural Trim Ribbon

I think this card is one of my favorites!   It was easy, it looks very manly and it is....elegant isn't the word for a manly card but it's a rich look, clean lines...let me know what word fits a card like this! Colors are Black and Sahara sand.  I used the fancy fan emboss folder, 3 inch circle die and the Neutrals Designer Paper Pack.

This one is done in Crumb Cake and Baja Breeze, uses our new pop tops #129388 that I ran thru the big shot to smash just a bit.  I used the new Natural Trim Ribbon again on this one  #129287

Thank you for looking.  I hope you've enjoyed these 'fishy cards'!

By the Tide Stamp Set...

 ......My recent obsession!

This is a fun card using the envelope as part of the image.
How To:
  • cut off a sliver of the side of a Very Vanilla Envelope and punch 1/2 of a 1 3/8” circle punch in the side
  • stamp the images on the front of the envelope and embellish as shown
  • stamp a layer just the front of the card as a pull out.  I punched a 1 3/8” circle of pool party and folded it in half over the top of the card.
  • Colors: real red, pool party, old olive
My next couple posts are some of the other cards that I made for my award cards for my Joyful Heart Stampers Meeting on Saturday (most are cased from other creative stampers).
If you’re ready to get your set and start playing, HERE’s my Store
By the Tide Clear  #129120  $19.95

I think this one looks like a globe.
  • I just cut out a 3” circle with our die and used the cut-out part to lay over my card and mask everything but the circle area.  Then sponge with Marina Mist ink
  • Colors Midnight Muse, Naturals Ivory, Marina Mist
Buttons are the new Basic Designer from the mini  #129325

This next one is done in Real Red, Night of Navy and Sahara Sand with a touch of Linen thread and a tag from our Pretty Petites Sale a Bration stamp set

This card is done with very neutral colors.  Crumb cake, Vanilla and a touch of Baja Breeze.  The natural cotton ribbon is still available as a carryover from the Holiday catalog.. #127844.  Oops, looks like we got this one on a little crooked.  The lined paper is from Parker’s Patterns DSP  #131021.  This paper is like a mullet: Party on one side, Business on the other!
Once again, If you’re ready to get your set and start playing, HERE’s my Store

Baby Wipe Technique

I promised to tell you how I did this card…oops, sorry! a day late.  Busy getting ready for a Big Joyful Heart Stampers Group Meeting…went from 9-3 today.  Whew, am I wiped out!

IMG_1235

First, let me say that I’m totally in love with this By the Tide stamp set!

  • start with a piece of our white or vanilla Ultrasmooth cardstock (in our basic line).
  • lay a baby wipe (folded) on a paper plate or even hold in your hand.  and drip several drops of re-inker in a  line.
  • immediately rub that baby wipe over your card, trying to do it in one fluid motion (you can see there above the lobster where I stopped and restarted but it sort of gives it some character)

Hope you’ll try this simple technique and let me know what you think.

If you’d like to have this gorgeous stamp set that makes perfect ‘manly’ cards, just click on the photo to go to my website and order ….but to make it easier, here’s the number…you can just plug that into the search box once you get into my online store….#129120  Here’s what’s included:
